Willie David Anderson, "Carpet Man", 85, of Lubbock was born October 7, 1927 in Highbank, TX to the late Willis and Georgina (Stuart) Anderson. He worked for the Lubbock Public School System and Housing Authority for several years. He married Danielle Matthews October 16, 1955 and she preceded him in death on September 9, 2011.

Willie went to a peaceful sleep Sunday, April 7, 2013. A daughter: Willie Mae Anderson, 3 brothers: L. B. "Plunk", R.C. and F.C. Anderson, and 3 sisters: Ossie Lee Burell, Annie B. Lowe, and Lillian Whitfield also preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memory are his 4 sons: Charles Anderson of Huntsville, Alabama, Ronnie Anderson of Irving, TX, David Anderson of Lubbock and Darrell Anderson of Castro Valley, CA; 2 daughters: Dianah Washington of Aurora, Colorado and Wanda Penny of Missouri City, TX; 1 brother: Willis Anderson of Monahans, TX; 1 Sister: Gertrude Holmes of Lubbock; relatives, friends, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren with Darrell and Sara's baby: William Daniel Lomax Anderson due August 22, 2013.

A memorial service will be at 11:00am Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Christ Temple Church of God in Christ at 2411 Fir Ave., Lubbock.
