William "Bill" James Gallagher, 84, of Lubbock was born October 29, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio to William James and Margaret Ann (Mooney) Gallagher. He worked for Asplundh Tree Experts for 25 years. He married Betty Lou Jackson in 1963 in Cleveland, OH. She passed away March 1, 2010. Bill enjoyed crossword puzzles every Sunday morning with his close friends, Kyle & Maxine Hollingshead and Robert Salazar at Donut Depot on 34th St. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Husea family who are the owners of the Donut Depot. Bill was proud of his Irish Heritage, he enjoyed listening to opera, playing chess, books, and the Cleveland Browns.
Bill went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 8, 2018. Those waiting for him were his parents, wife: Betty, a son: Richard F. Tennyson and his sister: Peggy Sebring.
Those left to cherish his memories are his son: Tom Gallagher and wife Diana; 4 grandchildren: Christina & husband Corey, Tony & wife Kady, Billy & wife Tasha, and Josh; 6 great-grandchildren: Bryce, Gage, Rylee, Whitlee, Ashlynn, Mya, with one on the way; his brother: Robert Gallagher & wife Judy of Cleveland; as well as his daughter-in-law: Debbie Tennyson-Best.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8pm Friday, May 11, 2018 at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth. Services will be at 10:00am Saturday, May 12, 2018 in the same chapel with Nancy McGee Edge and Diana Gallagher officiating. Entombment will be in Wilsons' Funeral Directors Cemetery.
