November 4, 1923 – July 7, 2019
Wanda Elizabeth Tate, 95, of Lubbock was born November 4, 1923 in Comanche, TX to the late Ruben & Eula (Bailey) Vaughn. Wanda was a member of the Oakwood Baptist Church. She was a wonderful seamstress and worked at the Curtain Place and later retired from TMNO bus station. She married LeRoy Tate April 12, 1942 in Florida. He passed away March 16, 1973. Wanda enjoyed crafts, sewing, and working in her garden and in concession stands. She was the Popcorn Queen of Lowrey Field.
Wanda went to be with the Lord Sunday July 7, 2019. Her parents, husband, a son: Dean Tate and her infant daughter Linda Sue Tate, 1 sister & 7 brothers all are waiting on her homecoming.
Those left to cherish her memories are her 2 sons: Troy Don Tate & wife Fonda and Tommy Wayne Tate; 2 brothers: Ruben Vaughn & wife Helen & James Vaughn; 6 grandchildren: Jeffery Tate & wife Shelly, Scott Doane & wife Aimee, Chisholm Tate & wife Jennifer, Brandon Tate & wife Michelle, Amy Tate Eiland, & Stephen Tate, & 17 great-grandchildren: Maddison, Kennlee, Tyler, Trevor, Collin, Cayden, Caroline, Darian, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Zackary, Victoria, Jonathan, & Emery.
Memorial services will be at 12:30pm Saturday July 13, 2019 at West Texas Church at the Barn with Mike Hardison officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00pm Saturday at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. Cremation is under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
