Tex Ray Stephenson was born July 22, 1937 in Anton, Texas to the late Durward and Oma (Butler) Stephenson. Tex served in the U.S. Army. He graduated Lubbock High School in the Class of '55. He received his commercial art degree from Texas Tech. He was a very talented, funny, and personable man. He enjoyed golfing, studying and reading his bible. He was a true Christian.
Tex went to be with the Lord Monday, February 11, 2019 at the age of 81 years, 6 months, and 20 days.
Those left to cherish his memories are his First Cousin: Shirley Mathis and husband Gene, 3 Second Cousins: Earl "Buck" Maples and wife Debbie, Jamie Keith, and Jenny Smith.
The family would like to give a very special thanks to Tex's friends: Randy Hilton, Fred & Bettie Steen, Jackie Lewelling, Marge Harck, Lubbock High School's Class of '55, and the nurses and staff at Heritage Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.
The Class of '55 will be having a memory meeting in honor of Tex at 11:30am Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the Golden Corral Restaurant. All Tex's family and friends are welcome.
Cremation arrangements are under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
