Sharon Kay Thompson, 81, of Lubbock was born August 1, 1941 in Phoenix, Arizona to Tom Butcher & Evelyn Lorraine Pearce-Butcher.  She married Bill Thompson January 21, 1961 in Phoenix, AZ. He passed away November 18, 1998.  Sharon was the ultimate caregiver, she was an Assistant to the Activity Director at the Plaza Rehabilitation Center and retired as a medical secretary from Covenant Lakeside.  Sharon raised her family in Guymon, OK.  She was a member of Highland Baptist Church alongside her family for many year and later became a member of Life Point Baptist Church.  She enjoyed collecting snow globes and beanie babies.  Sharon was a blessing to her family.

Sharon went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Her parents and her husband were waiting for her at the gates of Heaven.

Those left to cherish her memories are her 3 children: Sherri Lyne Rice of Richland, Washington, Thomas Leroy Thompson & wife Robin of Hugoton, Kansas, and Cindi Kay Trim & husband Phillip of Lubbock, 7 grandchildren: Joshua Lee & Abigayle Laine Rice, Jacie Lee, & Billie Kayte Thompson, Karli Roark and Keaton Thompson and Weston Mark Trim, 2 great-grandchildren: Leyton & Laine Rice of Richland, Washington, her sister: Barbara Norton & husband Ken of Ft. Worth, Texas.

Sharon always said "My children, grandchildren, & great-grandchildren were the greatest treasures of my life" Her famous quote was "Remember me with smiles and laughter for that's the way I'll remember you all.  If you remember me with tears & sadness, don't remember me at all."

The family will greet friends from 4-6 p.m. at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth on Monday, January 9th. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday January 10th in the same chapel with Ken Norton officiating.  Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
