Rosie Lavon Hurd, 95, of Lubbock was born May 26, 1928 in Lubbock to Samuel Jefferson Paschall and Mary Dewee (Mullin) Paschall.  She married Harold Hurd July 16, 1949.  He passed away September 5, 2005 after 56 years of marriage.  Rosie graduated from Texas Tech with a Masters in Education.  She was a school teacher in the Lubbock Public Schools.  She has been an active member of her church, St Luke's Methodist Church since 1962.  After retiring, she and Harold enjoyed several years traveling, bird watching, and working as volunteers.

Rosie went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 13, 2023. Her parents, husband, and three siblings preceded her in death.

Those left to cherish her memories are her 3 children: Marcus Hurd, David Hurd & wife Tita, and Renee Reyes & husband Sam, 4 grandchildren: Brittney & husband Adam Knight, Erin & husband Billy Mullins, Kristen & husband Richard Corder, & Brandon Reyes & wife Maggie, along with 8 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life memorial service is pending.  Private entombment is in Wilsons' Funeral Directors Cemetery in Wolfforth under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
