Ronald "Ronnie" Murray Nettles, 75, of Lubbock, was born July 17, 1939 in Lubbock to Murray and Waltha (Hancock) Nettles. He worked as a Gin Manager for 43 years. He married Bertha Smith June 6, 1958 in Lakeview, TX. Ronnie enjoyed family time at Brownwood Lake, boating and skiing. He also enjoyed landscaping.

Ronnie went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 5, 2014. His parents, brother: Harold Nettles, 2 sisters: Mary Nell Askew and Virginia Pendergrass preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Bertha Nettles; 2 children: Debra Diann May and husband Ricky, Michael Douglas Nettles and wife Karen; 4 grandchildren: Blake Randal May, Christyn Nicole Cornelius, Trevor Michael Bennett, and Ryan Blake Bennett; a great-grandson: Jaylen Ervin; and sister: Christeen Pendergrass.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7pm Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth. Services will be at 10:00am Friday August 8, 2014 in the same chapel with Dr. Steve McMeans of Indiana Ave. Baptist Church officiating.
