Rodrigo Alanis

Rodrigo Gonzales Alanis, 87, of Lubbock, was born July 23, 1939 in Montemorelos, Nuevo León, Mexico to Rodolfo Alanis and Maria S. Gonzales-Alanis.  He turned hardship into a source of strength. He left the only home he knew and built a better one for his family.  He asked for little and gave all that he could.  He was a father, grandfather, brother, friend.  

"El Maestro," as he was called by many who worked with him, was passionate about his work. A brick contractor for over thirty years, he bricked the homes of families that now stand all over town. He was also an avid ham radio operator (KB5KRW) and a constant thinker, fixer, inventor.

He passed peacefully in the presence of family on Sunday, September 13, 2026.  He was preceded in death by his brother Ricardo Gonzales Alanis.

Those left to cherish his memory are his four children: Alan Alanis (Meagan Rankin), Rod Alanis, Tracy Alanis Henry (Nathan), and Christy Alanis Roa (Alan); four grandchildren: Mason Alanis, McKenna Hardin, Ethan Henry, and Elia Roa; and his siblings: Maria de los Angeles Alanis, Elvia Rosa Alanis Gonzales, and Rodolfo Manuel Gonzales Alanis.

No services are planned at this time  Cremation is under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth, TX.
