Robin Gay Taylor Veretto Gauna, 60, of Lubbock was born June 29, 1961, in Dallas, TX. She was the Tahoka Harvest Festival Queen in 1978 and graduated Tahoka High School in 1979. She attended Baylor University and Texas Tech University, graduating in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in Political Science. Robin traveled the world as an explorer and missionary traveling to Thailand, Turkey, and many more. Her most memorable trip was visiting the Dome of the Rock and laying hands on the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. She married her forever dance partner Rene Gauna on November 11, 2011. Robin never met a stranger, anyone who knew her would agree. She loved her children fiercely and cared for all God's creatures.  She was and will always be a breast cancer warrior who danced every chance she got. And above all else Robin had an unshakeable faith in God and His plans.

Robin went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 20, 2021, surrounded by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Riley Albert Taylor and Lula Jo Brandon, sister, Lana Jo Taylor-Craig of Tahoka, TX, her birth mother, Ann Shropshire Long, of Brownfield, TX, and sister, Mary Martha Sufall, of Bastrop, TX.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Rene Gauna; daughter, Riley; son, Jacob; daughter,  Cassidy; daughter,  Alana; grandson, Zane; and granddaughter, Amelia, all of Lubbock, TX; her brother-in-law, Joe Craig, and wife, Kellie, of Tahoka, TX;  sister, Peggy Ann Sufall (and family) of Albuquerque, NM; and aunt Susan Shropshire Gatewood (and family) of Hobbs, NM; many brothers and sisters-in law and several nieces and nephews from her husband's family (Gauna Family); as well as, her many friends that she loved like family.

The family will greet friends from 5:30pm to 7:30pm Friday, July 30, 2021, at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth. Robin's service will be at 12:00pm on Saturday, July 31, 2021, in the same chapel with Pastor Gary Delay of Transformation Church-Lubbock officiating. Burial will follow at Terrace Cemetery in Post, TX.  Family and friends are welcome to gather at a reception following the services to celebrate her beautiful life. Location to be announced.
