Pedro "Pete" Martinez, 74, of Lubbock was born February 24, 1940 in Bastrop, Texas to Andres and Petra Martinez. He worked for the City of Lubbock for 27 years in the Sanitation Department. He married Erminia Mendoza October 6, 1963 in Lubbock. Pete enjoyed traveling, fishing, and hunting. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Cursillista, and Charismatic Movement.

Pete went to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 17, 2014.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 51 years: Erminia Martinez; 4 children: Sylvia Martinez, Pedro Martinez , Jr., Andres "Andy" Martinez and wife Rubia and Esmeralda Martinez; 8 grandchildren: Amanda, Stephen Ray, Matthew, Katalina, Adriana, Mickey, Joe David, & Andrew, 3 great-grandchildren; 1 brother: Marcel Garcia and 3 sisters: Eufamia Flores, Francis Castillo and Sally Coleman.

Viewing will be from 1 to 5pm Friday, Dec. 19, 2014 at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth. Rosary will be at 7:00pm Friday, Dec. 19, 2014 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Lubbock. Mass will be at 1:00pm Saturday, December 20, 2014 in the same church with Fthr David Cruz officiating.
