Mildred Anne Carter, 88, of Lubbock was born March 5, 1920 in Childress, TX to the late Finis Perry and Bertie Anne (Bean) Blair. She married Paul Carter, May 30, 1937 in Altus, OK. He passed away October 31. 1988. She retired from Texas Tech Book Store after 17 years of service. She was a member of First Christian Church. She loved to read, crochet, play bridge & she was a great cook.
Anne passed away Monday August 25, 2008.
She is survived by 4 Sons: Paul Carter, Jr. and wife Barbara of Colorado, John David Carter & wife Linda of Albuquerque, NM, Daniel Carter of Shallowater, and William "Nick" Arthur Carter II of Lubbock; 3 Daughters: Karen Anne Carter of Houston, Eva Kathryn and husband Chris Lartigue of Louisianna, and Kay and husband Joe Caballero of Lubbock; her sister, Mamie LaRue Roundtree of Houston; 13 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 7pm Thursday at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth. Celebration of Anne's life will be at 10:00am Friday in the same chapel with Michael Passmore of First Christian Church officiating. Entombment will be in Wilsons' Funeral Directors Cemetery.
