Marvin Marion Mauldin of Lubbock was born November 24, 1915 in Sheilds, TX to Willis Archibald and Nina Mae (Newman) Mauldin. He was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps from 1945 to 1946. He married Mattie Alexander Aug. 4, 1934 in Decatur, TX. She passed away Oct. 20, 2001 after 67 years of marriage. He retired as a Lineman Supervisor for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. after 40 years of service on Feb. 14, 1978. He was a 32nd degree Mason in Scottish Rite & Yellowhouse Lodge #841. He was a Major in the Texas State Guard for 8 years. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church and a Serial Life Member in Telephone Pioneers of America.
Marvin was called to heaven, Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the age of 93 years 6 month & 7 days. His brother: Kenneth K. Mauldin preceded him in death.
Those left to cherish his memories are his son: Marvin Malvin Mauldin of Lubbock; 2 daughters: Marilyn and husband Herb Sckerl of Gainesville, GA, and Kay and husband Frank Brown of Sulphur Bluff; 2 Grandchildren: Teressa Kay & Heather Lea, 4 Great-Grandchildren: Chelsea, Chase, Baylea, and Kynzie; and his sister: Jewell E. McGowan of Keller, TX
The family will greet friends at 2:00pm Wednesday in Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth. Celebration of Life services with Masonic and Military honors will be at 3:00pm Wednesday, June 3, 2009 in the same chapel with Rev. Kenneth Staton officiating. Entombment will be in Wilsons' Funeral Directors Cemetery.
