Marlene Long, 88, was born August 23, 1937 in Amarillo, TX to James "Jim" Alton Smith and Neva Marie Bowen-Smith.  She married Arthur Long, Jr. May 11, 1956 in Clovis, NM.  He passed away June 26, 2020 after 64 years of marriage.  Marlene worked at Texas Instruments and Dr. Pepper. She enjoyed square dancing, going to the mountains, camping, and fishing.

Marlene went to be with the Lord Monday August 25, 2025.  Her parents, husband, 2 daughters: Beverly Barham, & Brenda Tidsdal, and a brother: Morgan Smith were all waiting for her at Heaven's gate.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter: Linda Joiner & husband Mike of Asher, OK, her son: Keith Long and wife Malisa of Wolfforth, her brother: Don Smith & wife Lee of Ruidoso, NM, 7 grandchildren: Cody Joiner, Justin Joiner, Ashley Battey, Staci Stevenson, Crystal Kirkland, Josh Kirkland, & Carrie Kates, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 5 to 7pm Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at  Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth.  Graveside services will be at 1:00pm Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park with Pastor Darrell Winter of RaceTrack Chapel Ruidoso Downs officiating.  Services are under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
