Mabel "Memaw" Lucille Lollis, 94, of Lubbock was born July 24, 1930 in Joplin, Missouri to William Edwin Cook & Millie Rushing Cook. She was a nurses aide and a nanny for years. She married R.V. Lollis April 15, 1946 in Ardmore, OK. He passed away February 12, 2011 after 65 years of marriage. Mabel was known as the cookie lady and helped at the Ronald McDonald house in Lubbock. She also played Mrs. Santa Claus for the special needs students at Bennett Elementary. Mabel was a strong lady and fought fiercely against breast cancer.
Mabel went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 8, 2024. Her daughter: Joyce Arthur and her son-in-law: Juan Jose Cadavid whom she was very close to were waiting at Heaven's gate for her.
Those left to cherish her memories are her 3 children: Lucinda Cadavid of Lubbock, Richard Vernon Lollis of Tulsa, OK, and David Lollis and wife Cheri of Lubbock, 9 grandchildren: Christian, Laura, Carolina, Timothy, Joshua, Angel, Amber, Christopher, & Michael, 13 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, & her bonus children she nannied: Kyle & Pierce.
Memorial services will be at 1:00pm Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth with Pastor Mike Martindale of The Heights Fellowship officiating. Cremation is under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
