Lupe "Grampy" S. Perez, Sr., 71, of Lubbock was born December 10, 1948 in Kenedy, Tx to Antonio and Benita (Salinas) Perez.  He married Rosie Saldivar May 8, 1970 in Post, TX.  They lived in Post for 43 years before moving to Lubbock 5 years ago. He was a deacon at Temple Bautista in Post for 20+ years.   Lupe was hard working with the best attitude, always smiling.  He only had a 6th grade education yet was a carpenter, electrician, plumber, mechanic, painter, builder, laid concrete, landscaper, gardener, played the bass at church, chef and so much more. He was a faithful husband, guiding father and loved the Lord and his church. He loved playing with his grandchildren. Lupe was a kid at heart.  He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and loved the Lord.

Lupe went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 11, 2020.  His parents and his son: Ricky Saldivar preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 50 years: Rosie Perez, his children: Bobby Saldivar, Lola Alaniz, Lupe Jr. & wife Serena Perez, Vickie & husband Pablo Castro, Rachel & husband Joe Quintero, & Isaac Perez,  31 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 9 siblings: Sylvia Medrano, Sonny, Tony, Santos, Jessie, Janie, Alfonso, & Dora Perez, and Erma Chapa, along with numerous nieces and nephews & great-nieces and great-nephews.
