Lucia "Lucy" Janssen, 91, of Lubbock was born December 13, 1920 in Kennedy, Texas to Gregorio and Julia Guzman. She married Willie Janssen in 1944. He passed away June 22, 1989. She loved music and loved to dance. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and a Cursillista.

Lucy passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012.


She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister: Amelia and her brother: Emilio Guzman.

Those left to cherish her memories are her 6 children: Willie Janssen, Jr. (Rosa), Aurora Janssen, Sylvia J. Hernandez, Jimmy Janssen (Mary), Ester Luna and Otto Janssen (Yolanda); 4 brothers: Juan and Albert Guzman of Kennedy, TX, Felix Guzman of Dallas, and Jose Guzman of Des Moines, Iowa; 3 sisters: Ramalda Cruz of Kennedy, TX, Josefine Gonzales of Hondo, TX, and Maria Escobedo of Seguin, TX; 26 Grandchildren, 63 Great-Grandchildren & 36 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

The Rosary will be at 7:00pm today (Tues.), June 26,
2012 at San Ramon Catholic Church in Woodrow with viewing beginning at 2:00pm. Wednesday viewing will be at 10:00am in the same church with Mass beginning at 2:00pm, June 27, 2012 with Rene Perez officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: David Ruiz, Otto Janssen, Jr., Jimmy Janssen, Jr., Jose Luis Luna, Rudy Luna, and Raymond Janssen.
