Larry Johnson, 81, of Lubbock was born April 9, 1938 in Dallas, TX to Earl & Dora (Plaster) Johnson. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He married Shirley Devenport May 11, 1963 in Dallas. He retired from Texas Tech University after several years in the Building Maintenance Department. He was a member of the Lubbock area square & round dancing federation in the Hub City Wheelers club.

Larry went to be with the Lord Friday, June 7, 2019.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 56 years, Shirley Johnson, 2 daughters: Sonya Johnson and Cindy Cannon, his son: Tommy Goodman and wife Melissa, and 4 grandchildren.

Cremation is under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth. Military graveside services will be at a later date in Louisiana.
