Ladislaus "Scrubby" John Skrabala's Obituary
Ladislaus "Scrubby" Skrabala, 85, of Lubbock was born December 22, 1927 in Joliet IL to John Skrabala and Mary Ollo.
He married Faye Mary Whiteley April 23, 1955 in San Antonio .She entered Heaven April 17, 2013 after 58 years of marriage. Scrubby joined her on Friday, August 2, 2013.
He proudly served in the US Air Force for 27 years as a Crew Chief. After he retired, Scrubby began a new career at Texas Tech University as the Building Engineer, and was there for 16 years.
His lifetime hobby was building and flying radio control airplanes. He was a member of Flight Line Radio Control Airplane Club and AMA. He was a Catholic and attended Covenant Medical Center 's Chapel.
He is preceded in death by his parents,his loving wife, 2 brothers,John and Tony and 2 sisters Mary and Helen.
Those left to cherish his memories are: 2 daughters: Anita Ataie of Plano, TX and Mary Ann Skrabala of Washington; a son: Michael J. Skrabala of Virginia; 5 Grandchildren; 4 Great-Grandchildren; his precious dog Callie; his best friend Jim Self and his second family at Henry D's.
Memorial services will be at 4:00pm Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Covenant Medical Center 's Chapel with Father Peter D'Souza officiating.
Cremation is under the care of Wilsons ' Funeral Directors
