Katherine Gilbert, 73, of Lubbock, was born April 23, 1943 in Plainview to Maxey Eugene Minter and Rosa Lee (Reed) Minter. She married Willie Gilbert Nov. 22, 1960 in Lubbock. He preceded her in death Oct. 1991. She worked as in Respiratory Care at Covenant Medical Center for 25 years before retiring. She enjoyed playing games on her table, playing skibo and spending time with her kids and grandkids. Katherine also enjoyed decorating. She was an associate of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Katherine went to be with the Lord Monday, Nov. 14, 2016. Two sisters, Emma Jean Benson & Margallene Thomas & a granddaughter Katrina all preceded her in death.

Those left to cherish her memories are her 7 children: Kenneth Gilbert & wife Alfreda of Dallas, Valerie Gilbert, Velda & husband Terry Humphrey all of Lubbock, Thomas, Elizabeth, & Richard Gilbert & wife Hametra all of Dallas, and Ashone Johnson of Houston; her brother, Willie Lee Minter and wife Dorothy; 3 sisters: Thelma & husband Joe Jackson of Friona, Ernestine & Lorine Minter both of Lubbock; 11 Grandchildren & 8 Great-Grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 4 to 7pm Friday, November l8, 2016 at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth. Services will be at 11:00am Saturday, November 19, 2016 in the same chapel with Apostle Mark A Culver, Senior Pastor of Word of Truth Christian Fellowship Ministries officiating. Entombment will be in Wilsons' Funeral Directors Cemetery in Wolfforth.
