John Irving Franks, Jr. 76, of Lubbock was born January 26, 1947 in Morrow, Louisiana to John Irving Franks, Sr. & Veanna (Pruitt) Franks. He worked for the City of Lubbock 17 ½ years before retiring. He married C. Elizabeth Dennison January 12, 1973 and they were married for 15 years until her death August 15, 1988.   He married Patricia Darlene Preslar October 6, 1990.  She passed away July 20, 2015 after 25 years of marriage.

John went to be with the Lord Monday, August 21, 2023.  His parents, Brothers Curtis Fogleman and Raphael Franks, sisters Josephine Barrere, Shirley Ann Fontenot, Shirley Mae Franks, Lonnie Mary Ducote, and Anna Franks, his wife Patricia Preslar Franks, and a daughter: Alexandra Lea Janow (Oct. 2014) were waiting at Heaven's gate to welcome him home.

Those left to cherish his memories are his 3 daughters:  Lynne Northcutt, Mary Morgan & husband Paul, Aaron Brocklehurst & husband John, and his son: John Irving Franks, III, 9 grandchildren: Patricia, Matthew and Shelby Northcutt, David Morgan, Catherine and Rebecca Clopton, Vicente Franks, Fiona and Aiden Brocklehurst, Sisters Beulah Dykman, Ruth Finch, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The viewing will begin Saturday August 26, 2023 at 9:00am until service time at 2:00pm at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth.  Services will be at 2:00pm Saturday in the same chapel with Pastor Juan Rios of New Beginnings Church officiating.  Burial will follow at the Wolfforth Cemetery under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
