Joel Garza, 48, of Lubbock, was born June 12, 1964 in Lubbock to Ramon and Amparo (Singleterry) Garza. He grew up in Wolfforth and graduated from Frenship High School. He enjoyed his job at Durham Transporation and made many friends there. He was a science fiction fan especially Star Trek. He will truly be missed by his family and friends. He also enjoyed his facebook friends.

Joel went to a peaceful sleep Thursday, April 11, 2013. His father: Ramon preceded him in death on March 16, 2009. His Aunts & Uncles also preceded him in death: Alfredo "Fred" Garza, Andrew, Ruben, & Rolando Singleterry, Helen Samarripa, Francis Rodriguez, & Elvira Beggs.

Those left to cherish his memories are his beloved mother: Amparo Garza of Wolfforth; 2 sisters: Sylvia and husband Jesus Tirado of Lubbock and Deborah Garza of Wolfforth; his brother: Daniel & wife Mishalle Garza; 1 nephew: Adam & wife Elise Tirado; 3 nieces: Crystal and Karin Tirado and Abigail Garza; a great-neice: Amberlynn and great-nephew: Keagan Lee; Uncles: Antonio "Tony" Garza & wife Irene, Abel Garza, David, Raul, Raymond, Baldomero, Louis, Armando, Paul, and Ramiro Singleterry; Aunts: Aurelia "Cookie" Garza, Annie Vasquez, Evanglina Canalas, Virginia Galvan, Mary Garza, Rachel Gomez, Thelma Fishback, Rosie Walls, Mary Ann Hernandez, and Hope Zarate along with several cousins.

Memorial Services will be at 11:00am Tuesday April 16, 2013 at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth
