Jessie G. Lopez, Jr. 78, of Wolfforth was born September 1, 1930 in El Campo, TX to the late Jessie and Rita (Garcia) Lopez, Sr. He married Anita Chavera Sept. 16, 1948 in Three Rivers, TX. He worked as a painting contractor for several years. He loved to fish and to joke around. He was a devoted father, husband, and a very loving grandfather. He was a Catholic. He was a longtime resident of Lamesa before moving to Lubbock. A daughter: Amy Mendoza preceded him in death.

Jessie passed away Sunday, October 26, 2008.

Jessie is survived by his wife of 60 years: Anita Lopez of Wolfforth; 10 children: Samuel Lopez and Esther Casias both of Lubbock; Tina Mojica of Wolfforth, Irene Lopez of Austin, Jesse Lopez of Wolfforth, Rudy and George Lopez both of Lubbock, Steve Lopez of Big Springs, Bobby Lopez of Plano, and Sylvia Hennig of Madison Wisconsin; 30 Grandchildren; 39 Great-Grandchildren; 3 Brothers: Andy Lopez and John Navarro both of Dallas, and Tommy Navarro of Bryan; 2 Sisters: Mary Tijerina of Bryan, and Andrea Lopez of Woodward, OK

The Rosary will be at 7pm Wednesday at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth. The celebration of Jessie's life will be at 11am Thursday, October 30, 2008 in the same chapel with Msgr Malcolm Neylands officiating. Burial will be in Wolfforth Cemetery under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors
