Jean Utley, 86, of Lubbock was born December 23, 1926 in Monroe, Texas to Roy Gray and Ora Faye (Bledsoe) McNeely. Jean married Jim Utley December 16, 1946. He passed away in 1984. Jean was an Executive Chef at State National Bank and loved to cook, work in the garden, play bridge, and shop. She was the matriarch of her family who she loved very much.


Jean went to be with the Lord Friday, January 25, 2013. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 children: James Richard, Jr., Jimmy Lynn, Terry Kim, and Robert Lee; 2 sisters: Oleta & Maureen; & 2 brothers: Bus & Dinks.


Those left to cherish her memories are her 2 daughters: Deby & husband Jack Dillon, Susan & husband Michael Bond; 2 sisters: Glee Showalter & Joy Yarborough; 9 grandchildren: Candace, Dusti, Kevin, Casidi, Colte, Justin, Kenley, Joshua, & Kason; 11 great-grandchildren: Caroline, Lauren, Megan, Eugene, Cami, Analise, Shaylee, Haleigh, Emily, Saeryn, & Keltey.


The family will greet friends on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 10:00 to Noon at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel.

Graveside services will be at 1:00pm Monday at City of Lubbock Cemetery with Mike McCreight of Legacy Church officiating.

Burial is under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors in Wolfforth.
