Howard Dale "Bitz" Stroud, 81, of Wolfforth was born June 27, 1927 in Lubbock, TX to William Austin and Ollie Mae (Farmer) Stroud.

He worked for over 50 years as a roofer for Texas Roofing. He was a Veteran of the Army who went to combat during the Korean War. He married Earlene Crabb October 30, 1954 in Clovis, NM. He loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Bitz passed away Saturday, December 13, 2008.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers & sisters: William Austin, Raymond B and Douglas D Stroud and Wanda M. Borden and Betty Jo Kizer.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years: Earlene Stroud; his children: Larry Stroud of Wolfforth, Lonnie (Debbie) Stroud, Jackie (Norma) Stroud, and Pricilla Crabb all of Lubbock and Debbie Crabb of Dallas; his brother: Bob Stroud of El Paso; two sisters: Dale Tamburen of Howe, TX and Helen Kizer of Hurst; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7pm Monday at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth.
