Hazel Nettie James, 88, of Lubbock was born Nov. 8, 1922 in Liberty County, Texas to Andrew and Bessie Martin. She retired as a housekeeping supervisor at Texas Tech University. She was a tremendous animal lover. Hazel was a member of The Salvation Army Church and The Salvation Army Home League. She enjoyed working in the yard.
Hazel passed away Friday, October 7, 2011. Her son: Larry James preceded her in death.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Hazel Dahm of Marquez. TX, Jimmy Steele of Donie, TX, Sue (Bobby) Brown of Lubbock, James Steele of Mexia. TX, Bob (Barbara) Steele of Lubbock and Danny Steele of Ben Wheeler, TX, Marvis Ann Steele of Lubbock, Carolyn (Dan) Bailey and Judy (Tim) Ludolph all of Tyler, TX and Andy (Debbie) Rosales of Lubbock; 12 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren with 1 on the way, her sister: Martha Walls of Jewett, TX and a host of friends.
Viewing will be Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm, October 11, 2011 at The Salvation Army Chapel at 1111 16th St. in Lubbock. Services will be at 10:00am Wednesday, October 12, 2011 in the same chapel with Pastor Captain Michael Morton officiating. Entombment will follow at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Cemetery in Wolfforth under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
