Harrell Lloid Hope, 83, of Lubbock, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 7, 2013 in Amarillo. He was born March 25, 1930 in Carlington, OK to Onis Bryant Hope and Stella Fay (Metheny) Hope, being one of 17 children. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, a paratrooper and served two tours in the Korean Conflict. He married Annie Viola Bell Lee August 3, 1958 in Matador, TX. She passed away July 21, 2008. Harrell was a barber, farmed, worked for the Muleshoe Dairy and the Flatlander Dairy in Lubbock before retiring from the Lubbock Feed Yard in 1989. He was a member of the Quaker Ave. Church of Christ.
Harrell is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, his parents, 10 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his son: Calvin Sharp and wife Jody, his beloved dog, Lady; 6 grandchildren: Gena, Bryan, Crystal, Stephanie, Connie, and James Christopher; 3 sisters: Birdie Mae Hill, Betty Moore, and Beverly Stevens; 3 brothers: Bob, Bryan, and Buford Hope; and his best friend, Billy Peas.
Burial will be at a later date in Portales Cemetery in Portales, NM. Cremation is under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth. www.wilsonsfuneraldirectors.com
