Gilberto S. Guzman, 83, of Ropesville was born July 5, 1935 to the late Refugio and Juanita (Salinas) Guzman in Laredo, TX. He married Petra Perez, December 14, 1951 in Laredo, Tx. She passed away September 27, 1980. Gilberto enjoyed his work, farming and loved to be on the tractor. He was a strong, Catholic man with a great sense of humor. He also enjoyed being with his family. He liked Dr. Peppers and bananas.

Gilberto went to be with the Lord, Thursday, February 21, 2019. His parents, wife, a son: Javier Guzman, 4 brothers, and a sister all preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memories are his 5 children: Refugio, Jesse & wife Rosie, Rebecca & husband Jimmy, Ricardo and wife Azeneth, and Juan Carlos Guzman, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, many nieces & nephews.

Memorial services will be at 7:00pm Saturday, February 23, 2019 at LaTrinidad UMC at 504 46th St. and Ave. D in Lubbock with Pastor Sammy Espinoza.
