Gertrude "Gert" Mathea Sorensen, 99, of Lubbock was born August 3, 1921 in Eli, Nebraska on the ranch to Henry Paulinus & Roby Ann (Reynolds) Ladegard.  She eloped with Charles Douglas Sorensen in 1941 in Martin, South Dakota.  He passed away in 1983.  Gert was prominent in the Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, making birthday cards, and playing solitaire & cribbage.

Gert went to be with the Lord Monday, December 14, 2020.  Her parents, husband, a sister: Margaret Goodwin, & 2 brother: Harold Henry Ladegard & Paul Albert Ladegard

Those left to cherish her memories are her 4 children: Charlene Sue Olson of Brownfield, Charles "Chuck" Dean Sorenson of Woodrow, Connie Lou Bacumn, & Cindy Rae Sadler both of McCalister, OK, 10 grandchildren: Billy Joe "BJ" Taylor, Jill Rae Green, Mandy Jan VanVekoven, Cory Olson, Jarrod & Kimber Lee Sorensen, Trevor & Michael Sadler, Stacy Bacumn, & Kendra Sorensen,  and 7 great-grandchildren: Nicolas & Meaghan Green, Hannah, Jennifer & Christopher Van Vekoven, Drayton & Davidson Bacumn.

Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.  Cremation is under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
