Florence Hazel Cochran of Hampton, Virginia & formerly of Lubbock was born April 17, 1913 in Freestone County, TX to John & Margaret (Bain) Sturdivant. She was a homemaker & was married to Jack Cochran before he passed away in 1976.


Mrs. Cochran passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in Virginia at the age of 97 years 9 months 29 days.

Two brothers & a sister: John, Joe, & Susie Mae Sturdivant preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter: Jacquelyn Sue Hanks of Hampton, VA; 4 grandchildren: James David Hanks & fiancé: Tim Kerns of Washington DC, Debra Ann Gordon & husband Gary of Newport News, VA, Kimberly Sue Easter and husband Gordon & Barry Lee Hanks all of Hampton VA; 4 great-grandchildren: Tommy Jenkins & fiancé Traci Dagley, Christina Carpenter & husband Cecil all of Hampton, VA, Samantha Kelsey Gordon of Hamilton, New Jersey, Jacquelyn Nicole Ross & husband Jason of San Antonio; 2 great-great grandchildren: Kaylei Kipper and Chloe Carpenter of Hampton, VA.


Graveside services will be Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 2:00pm at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock, Texas with Dr. Michael S. Passmore of First Christian Church officiating.


Services are under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
