Ewell Ray Simpson, 81, of Idalou was born July 15, 1936 in Whitharrel, Tx to E.E. Simpson & Shelley Mae McLelland-Simpson. He was a salesman for L.D. Brinkman for several years. Ewell enjoyed golfing, making a hole in one, one time.

Ewell went to be with the Lord Monday, April 23, 2018. His parents and his brother: Edward "Bud" Simpson all preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memories are his partner of 17 years: Laverne Leonard; daughter: Kristye Kaye and husband Lee Reid; his son: Randy Ray Simpson and wife Denise; 3 siblings: Bobby Joe Simpson and wife Mary, Peggy Darlene & husband Chester Sassman, and Jean & husband Donald Gillit; 6 Grandchildren: Alecia and husband Mickey Claxton, Jared, Aaron, Matthew, Natasha, and Daniel; and several great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 2:30pm Thursday at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Cemetery with Chester Sassman officiating. Cremation is under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors and entombment will be in Wilsons' Funeral Directors Cemetery.
