Obituary

Evelyn L. Butcher 88, of Lubbock was born May 5, 1920 in E. Saint Louis, Illinois to James Earl and Kathrine Blance Pearce. She married Thomas M. Butcher August 14, 1938 in Phoenix, Arizona, who preceded in death on September 12, 2000. She was a bookkeeper & co-owner with her husband at the Village Inn Complex. She was a longtime member of Highland Baptist Church.
Evelyn went to be with the Lord, Sunday May 11, 2008.
She is survived by two daughters: Sharon Thompson of Lubbock and Barbie and husband Ken Norton of Ft. Worth,; 5 grandchildren: Sherrie Rice, Tommy Thompson, Cindi Trim, Evin Norton, & Christina Norton and 5 great-grandchildren: Joshua Rice, Abbye Rice, Jacie Thompson, Billie Thompson, and Weston Trim.
The family will greet friends Tuesday from 7pm to 8 at Wilsons' Funeral Directors. Celebration of Evelyn's life will be at 1:00pm Wednesday at Highland Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Batson officiating. Entombment will follow at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Cemetery in Wolfforth under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors.
