Earnest "Earnie" Lee Manley, 70, of Lubbock was born March 7, 1954 in Matador, TX to Tom Manley and Ardith Nadean Gray.  He graduated from Lubbock High School.  He worked as a cotton module mechanic, being the first to build a cotton module truck that was ever on the road.   He married June Boyd after courting her for 6 weeks on June 15, 1978, in Lubbock.  He enjoyed traveling with June going to Washington D.C. and to Las Vegas to see George Strait.  They also went to Kentucky to see the replica of Noah's Ark., along with many other places.

Earnie went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 1, 2024.  His mom: Ardith Nadean Thrasher, dad: Tom Manley, stepdad: Ray Thrasher, his son: Earnest "Peewee" Carl Manley, sister: Angela Ake, and a granddaughter: Tori Leigh Manley were all waiting for him at Heaven's gate.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 46 years: June Manley, 2 daughters: Betty Lashley and husband Bobby of Cairo, Georgia, & Shannon Meek and husband Marc of Snyder, Tx, 3 sisters: Debbie McCarley & husband Jim, Carla King & husband Roy, and Linda Escobedo, his brother: Allan Thrasher, 6 grandchildren: Chris Alonzo, Justin Manley, Lindsay Ball, Neal Danford, Cassie Carter, & Liz Wood, 7 great-grandchildren, his nieces & nephews, along with his dog Spanky.

Viewing will begin at 1:00pm Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth until service time at 2:00pm.  Services will begin at 2:00pm the same day with Pastor Ed Cooper officiating.  Burial will follow at City of Lubbock Cemetery under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
