Obituary

Durward Aubrey Freer, 98, of Whitewright, TX and formerly of Lubbock and Grandbury, TX was born November 3, 1916 in Weatherford, TX to Charlie Banager Freer and Ollie Samantha Jones-Freer. He grew up in Stamford, TX and lived in Lubbock from 1949 to 1984. He worked as a machinest for Liberty Machine Shop and later Randolph Machine Shop. He married Marguerite Miller in 1938 and she passed away Sept. 25, 2008 after 70 years of marriage.


Durward went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX. His parents, wife: Marguerite Freer, 3 sisters: Josie, Elsie, & Marie, and his brother: Lester Freer all preceded him in death.


Those left to cherish his memories are his 2 sons: Durward Kingsley Freer and his wife Nancy Freer of Whitewright, TX and Billy Jack Freer of Quinlan, TX; 4 Grandchildren: Lance Freer, Victor Freer, Zodi Ragsdale, and Bryan Bell; and 1 brother: Melburn Kenneth Freer.


Graveside services will be at 4:00pm Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow, TX with Ed Jones of Wolfforth Church of Christ officiating. Burial is under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
