Cleo Lavell Chastain-Stout, 92, of Lubbock was born August 17, 1924 in Fannin County, Texas to the late William Thomas Chastain and Edith "Ede" Emily Eubanks-Chastain. She married Roy Calvin Stout Nov. 8, 1941 and he passed away Sept. 15, 1973.

She worked at Texas Tech when the Lubbock tornado came through and she also ironed for the students. She enjoyed cooking and her outings with her kids. She was a wonderful mother. She could shoot a gun very well to rid pests in the yard and enjoyed fishing.

Cleo went to be with the Lord, Thursday, February 2, 2017. Three siblings preceded her in death: Opal, Willie James, & J.P. Chastain.

Those left to cherish her memories are her son: Benton Stout, a daughter: Carolyn Shahan; 4 grandchildren: David, Randall, Russell & Stanley; 3 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-great-grandchildren

The family will greet friends from 3 to 4:30pm Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017 at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth. Graveside services will be at 2:00pm Monday, Feb. 6, 2017 at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
