Obituary

Charles Vernon Glenn, 91, was born Feb. 23, 1919 in Albion, P.A., to Charles Oliver Glenn and Ella Mae Swab. He was married to LaVerne Terrell Sept. 4, 1947 in LosCerros, Ecuador. She passed away Oct. 25, 1993. Charles and LaVerne served thirty-five years as missionaries in Ecuador, S.A. under the Missionary Church, Decatur, IN. His area of work was Bible translation for the Cayapas Indian Tribes. The American Bible Society published the Gospel of Mark.

Upon retiring, Charles and LaVerne returned to Lubbock in 1980. They remained active in evangelistic ministry to International Students at Texas Tech as well as church ministries.

Charles passed away December 2, 2010 in Lakeland, Florida.

He and LaVerne had two infant children who both died shortly after birth. One brother, Thomas Elliott Glenn and a niece Nancy Ella Hinkler also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his sister: Helen Louise Signs of Orlando, FL. Five nieces: Shirley Fiesler, Patricia Richey, Marilyn Vu, and Mary Johnson and three nephews, David Glenn, William Signs and Gary Signs.

Services will be at 11:00am Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010 at Trinity Church, 7002 Canton, Lubbock, with Pastor David Savage officiating.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
