Budd Keen was the only child of Harvey Keen and Ruth Griesemer Keen born in Berryville, IL on Thanksgiving Day 1921. He married Ruby Virginia Doty November 19, 1940. When he developed a series of health issues, they moved to Hobbs, NM in 1949. He worked as a mechanic in the Lincoln and Mercury and Pontiac and Buick firms for nearly 30 years. They moved to Lubbock, TX and operated a cosmetic business.
Following a lengthy battle with lymphoma, Ruby died in 2004 after 64 years of marriage. As his own health began to exhibit the effects of his advancing years, he lived with his daughter, Virginia, in Arizona. Budd was always courageous and dedicated to serving God. He remained active in church services until his health precluded public speaking.
Budd is survived by his three children: Dr. Philip Keen of Phoenix, AZ, Virginia Keen Anderson of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Aleatha Keen Nall of Longview, TX. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
His entrance to this life caused a delay in the Thanksgiving Dinner, and now his heavenly father awaits him for a never-ending feast. Budd passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Saturday July 15, 2017 with the services at 11 AM in Wilson's Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth. Entombment will follow at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Cemetery in Wolfforth.
