Obituary

Archie Lee Gentry, 99, of Lubbock was born March 31, 1917
to Edgar and Trudy (Freeman) Gentry. Archie worked in the oil field traveling all over the world. He drilled oil in Indonesia, Libya, and South Africa. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a true cowboy, running a cattle ranch in Missouri, Rose Bud, TX and Waco, TX. He would break any horse that most were afraid of.

Archie went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 12, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Ida Gentry; 2 daughters: Reba Jean Gentry and Mildred Gentry; & 3 Brothers: Everett, J.D. & Wayne Gentry.

Archie is survived by 6 Children: June and husband Phillip Saulters of Waco, Norman & wife Sandra Gentry of Jacksonville, FL, Melvin & wife Betty Gentry of Gastonia, N.C., Waymon & wife Glenda Gentry of Waco, Lonnie Gentry of Snyder & and Debbie Gentry of Lubbock; 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, & great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm Monday, May 16, 2016 at Midland's Resthaven Memorial Park with Bob Porterfield officiating. Services are under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
