Obituary

Amiee Elizabeth Boyd, 54, of Lubbock was born May 20, 1971 in Lubbock to Lana Joyce (Boyd) Pelham & Vance Lewis.  She was a loving mom, friend, & a lover of country music (which was instilled in her by her grandmother, Wanda Boyd).  Amiee saw George Strait's concerts 30 times.  She met her lifetime love Toby Wetzel on August 12th in Lubbock on her last day of employment at Western Sizzlin Steak House. As a result of their union, they welcomed a daughter named Ashlee, the unique spelling was to honor her grandfather, LeeRoy Boyd.   She graduated with honors from Coronado High School and went to South Plains college and received her Bachelor of Art degree & associate degree in journalism.  Amiee worked at the Avalanche Journal & also at AT&T support service where she was a relay agent for the deaf and hard of hearing. She enjoyed riding around & reading, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Ashlee.

Amiee went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 12, 2026.  Her grandparents: LeeRoy & Wanda Boyd, mother Lana Joyce Pelham, and step-father Pete Pelham were all waiting for her at Heaven's gate.

Those left to cherish her memories are Toby Wetzel,  her loving daughter: Ashlee Boyd, special sister/cousin: Shannon Meek (Marc), nephews: Denton Pelham & Neal Danford, brother: Royce Kress Pelham, Jr. (Angie), niece Lana Pelham, special aunt June Manley, best friends: Cecilia Hamm (Cody), Sarina Chasco (Ruben), Whitney Tasillo (Tony), Tim Jolly, & Kristi Jones.

Services will be at 1:00pm Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth with Edward A. Cooper officiating.  Burial will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
