Amalia Lara Munoz, 82, of Lubbock was born July 10, 1929 in Normangee, Texas to Pedro and Dolores (Colunga) Lara. She married Ray Munoz December 15, 1946 in Lubbock. Ray passed away September 2, 2001. Amalia was a loving homemaker, Mother and Grandmother that loved life and had the gift of hospitality. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Amalia had touched in some small way throughout her memorable life.


Amalia passed away Friday, September 23, 2011.


Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Ray Jr. and wife Isbell, Dolores Munoz, Raul and Stephanie, Isaac and wife Teresa, Dolinda and husband David Garcia, Dalia and husband Ramiro Montes and Andrew Munoz; 18 Grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great Grandchildren; and 3 sisters.

A Wake will begin at 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 26 at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., September 27 a.m. at El Templo Redentor, 3016 Dartmouth Street in Lubbock with Pastor Tony Placencia officiating.
